Oh, and who are these three women surrounding you, almost like handmaidens?

asked a curious voice on the phone.

I also wanted to try something new.

So I sent a blue-turned-green text to Samantha to see when she was next available.

Days passed without a reply from Samantha, and I debated sending a desperate follow-up message.

When I tried calling her, it went to automated voicemail.

Mid-way through appetizers and cocktails, I saw Samanthas name pop up on my phone.

I said over whatever Top 40s song was playing.

Four years later, Ive lost track of how many times Ive scheduled sessions with Samantha.

Do I think Samantha is legit?

Growing up in a non-nuclear and non-religious family, I never considered myself a person of faith.

Yet I feel no shame typing Samanthas name into my Zelle app.

Nor Diane Roses, another incredible healer a friend recommended.

Whereas Samanthas expertise lies in palm-readings and tarot cards, Diane focuses on analyzing the astrological birth chart.

Over the years, Ive collected pages of journal entries recounting my sessions with Samantha and Diane.

Some of their predictions never came close to coming true, and others were eerily accurate.

After sessions, I would oscillate between calm, inspired, and frustrated.

But while some sessions were emotionally taxing, my thirst for knowledge won out.

Always, Id end up reaching out again.
