She was still in recovery when she flew to Paris to resume filming, only a month behind schedule.
As they navigate these various conundrums, Emily and Mindy, unquestionably, form the shows central relationship.
Which is so niceand rare.

Ashley Park:And also, we feel at home in the city and in our characters.
So, stepping back into their shoes is always like… a little hug?
LC:The first fittings are so crazy and fun.

Its the perfect segue back into their shoes.
How was it being back on set after all of that?

It was so sudden and so scary in so many ways.
Having Lily and Paul there with me was pretty vital.

Watching the first few episodes was wild because…
I came a month late to filming.
Im kind of in disbelief that Im here right now, and very grateful.
Watching it back, Im like, Oh my God, you served it up!
Its an incredible season for you.
And we were like, [mimics shivering] Here we are again, Season 4, yay!
LC:[Laughs] Like, Were gonna make it!
Were gonna make it!
Youre in so many fun sequences together this year.
Do you have any favorite moments, looking back now?
And also in terms of the physical comedy in these days… were stepping more into that this time.
AP:Our scenes in Rome, too.
That was pretty unforgettable for both of us.
It was the funniest and so sweet, and a totally not-scripted moment.
Its amazing to be able to add things like that in.
LC:I always love watching Ashley.
Specifically in Rome, though, I was in awe.
AP:Shes so generous [laughs].
LC:She puts everything out there for any performancechoreography, the studio time on weekends.
It takes so much out of you, and then you get up there and it looks so seamless.
AP:These interviews are hard for us because I feel like one of us will start crying.
LC:Were not okay [laughs].
AP:I love that!
you gotta talk to our writers.
LC:Ive never really thought about it that way [laughs].
What if thats the twist?
Like we do this for many, many more seasons, and then at the end they get together?
You cant say that, it kind of rubs off on her.
And then, when she does it, Mindys the first person to be like… [gasps].
AP:I feel like that happens a lot in Season 4.
A lot of her has rubbed off on Emily and shes owning it.
And Mindys like, Yaaaas!
LC:Theyre also flirting with the idea of the unknown.
Its just our chemistry.
Like, whats happening?
I need to ask you both about Rome as well.
Did you get to explore the city a bit during filming?
LC:We love Rome.
Filming there was such a nice way for us to end the season.
Everything is steeped in history.
Ugh, I just got goosebumps thinking about it [laughs].
And almost feeling like Emily at the beginning again.
It was the weirdest feeling of being like, wait, when are my friends coming?
AP:So meta.
LC:It was!
And then, everyone started sprinkling in.
And it just felt like… she needed that time alone for have that new experience.
AP:And especially after shooting in the winter, it was the best [laughs].
And you must know Paris really well now, having shot so many seasons there.
Where do you hang out when not working?
AP:these days, frankly, we were homebodies [laughs].
LC:We love spending one-on-one time together when were not on someone elses schedule.
AP:The Louvre area as well.
We eat at Loulous all the time, in that terrace bit.
Oh and also, theOlympicswere gearing up, so there were a lot of things being renovated and beautified.
So it was exciting to be wandering around and be like, Theres a skate park there now!
It was fun to see the city come alive in another way.
In one scene, Mindys judged for dressing so flamboyantly, so she doubles down.
And with Emily, there were a couple scenes where I felt like she wasalmostbecoming more Parisian?
LC:I think Emily is also very much inspired by Mindy this year.
AP:We loved that, and we love using the costuming to add to the storytelling.
Somehow, I got to wear a lot of pajamas right now, though [laughs].
I was like, Cmon!
Shes in a fleece, she just came down from the apartment.
LC:And I do think Emily is more and more inspired by Paris, too.
I got to wear a lot more monochromatic looks this timeand suits!
And right now, I remember being like, oh my gosh, thats chic.
You look like a Parisian.
LC:Thank you!
And Ashley, who would you pick for Emily, Gabriel or Alfie?
LC:Nicolasand Paulall the way.
Theyre literally the sweetest.
AP:And, oh my God, this Alfie and Gabriel thing.
I just want Emily to do what her heart wants.
And its wild as her friend, as Mindy, because its like,Again?
Were going there again? But also, we see her growth in how shes navigating it.
And we really havent seen that from your character.
And finally, Lily, were so excited for yourWest End debut withBarcelonain October.
And Ashley, will you come watch, and when will you be going back on stage?
Id love to see you in something together.
I could not be more excited.
Its a childhood dream come true to be on a West End stage.
AP:Im sosorry, I was about to swearthrilled for her.
I think Lily is one of the smartest actresses working today, and its so fun.
Its been a long time coming.
And also a two-person play is its own kind of feat.
Im so excitedI will be the shows biggest fan.
