Vogue: Where am I finding you at the moment?

Eddie Redmayne:Im in London.
Ive been darting around the place, but Im back home now.
It just looked odd and discombobulating and weird.

I said, I think we need one of those in the Jackals office.
[It makes you wonder] what sort of person you have to be to be capable of that.
I know that you grew up a big fan of the Fred Zinnemann film.

I love this genre.
Similarly, the Bourne movies, theKilling Eves.
It was one of the things that differentiated him from all those other icons of the genre.

Or were you really maintaining the distance thats so much a part of the story?
We barely got to see each other at all.
But our friendship was forged through the more producerial side.

Did you find that you had a similar working style?
But what was also lovely was we complimented each other quite well.
She had instincts for music, for example, or for lighting.

Im sort of deeply colorblind, so I wasnt so helpful in those moments.
Im curious about how that side of the story sat with you.
Or is your family kind of bopping around with you?
Shes like, Great, well travel the world together, and thats what we thought we would do.
So the short answer to your question is were still working it out, virtually daily.
What we take a stab at do, though, is to lean into the idiosyncrasies the job brings.
Theres an addiction to him, and I think that that sings to a lot of people.

And can you tell me about the locations?
What were some of your favorite tweaks and setpieces, working on this?
That was pretty stunning.
But Budapest itself is a breathtaking city.
Ive been lucky enough to work there quite a few times in my life.
But a high point for me was Vienna.
Ive always been obsessed with sachertortethat extraordinary chocolate orangey kind of cake.
And I stayed in the Hotel Sacher there, which has been a bit of a lifelong aspiration.
Are you still working with Harry Lambert?
Yes, I adore Harry.
The older Ive got, the more Ive become sort of conscious of the theater of red carpets.

So, now that youre home, what are you doing?
How are you spending your time?
I am gently starting to work toward a new project, which I cant talk about.
But Im really shoddy at learning lines, so Im starting to do that.
And I enjoy painting, I play piano.
Those are the sort of things that calm my head.
