Her first appearance in the designers universe came with the digital release of hisspring 2021 collection.
The Covid-time lineup, as Risso explained it to Vogue Runway then, was about the people in it.

The operating word, and feeling, was connection.
Lets go all the way back to the beginning.
How did you two meet?Franceso Risso: I dont even remember.

I think we met like 600 years ago.
FR: Oh my God, yes.
But I always remember one of the first times we did a show together.

I remember we were laying on the couch and it was the first time we could actuallyseeeach other.
We had such a beautiful time.
We also just had so many friends in common that it was easy to merge together.

And now youre here.
She is an incredibly courageous woman.
She embodies her body in the most beautiful way, and to me its all so inspiring.

I wanted to learn from P, as I always do.
I dont care if I dont do any other show.
If I only do Marni the rest of my life, Im happy.

How she beautifully puts things together.
When you see her on the street youre likewait, what is happening there.
There is nothing classic about Paloma and I love that.

I think that especially came through in it being a summer-focused collection.
It feels like a reflection of joy and an emphasis on freedom and expression.
He notices me and what I wear.

It all feels veryreal.
Theres something beautiful about things being very real in the world.

FR: What was beautiful about learning from Paloma was rendering Marni accessible for many types of bodies.
It brought another layer to what we were doing.
Different worlds colliding together, which made it quite unique and diverse at the same time.

PE: Alake is incredibly themselves in a way that is incredible.
FR: It came as most things happen to me and to us here, a surprise.
We met and decided to make something together.
Thats the beauty of how uncontrolled sometimes things are, we love that spontaneity.
