I got approached with this project five or six years ago, Chalamet explained in arecent interviewwith Zane Lowe.
If you were in the in-crowd, thats a name you get behind.
But truthfully, I didnt know anything about it.

Later, Chalamet revealed that he wept after singing for the first time in the film.
It was the first one we shot in the movie.
You couldnt do it to a playback because its such an intimate scene.
Its in a hospital room with Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger.
And I did it live.
I went home and I wept that night.
