Corina, however, admits she has no such recollection.

Fast-forward a decade, and the two met again at Andress aunts birthday dinner in Madrid.

It was far from a chance encounter.

Emotion & Motion

Unknown to us, his aunt had conspired for me to meet her nephew, Andres, says Corina.

Fate did intervene, however, when Andres decided to visit Corina in Miami in March of 2020.

In April 2022, Andres proposed in Benidorm, a small town on the east coast of Spain.

After dinner at a cliffside restaurant overlooking the ocean, they wandered down to a deserted beach.

Andres asked Corina what her favorite memory was of the past two years.

When she couldnt name just one, she asked Andres the same question.

The bar was the focal point at the restaurant with a hotair balloon as the main element.

After reciting some memories, he got down on one knee.

This is the most special moment, he said.

Will you marry me?

The two married in Madrid on May 13, 2023.

The Friday night before, they held a rehearsal dinner at Bibo by Dani Garcia.

A traditional Spanish dinner ofcroquetasandrabo de toroturned into a late-night dance party until the restaurant closed.

The bride met the groom at the altar wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress and bolero.

What we felt at that moment was something we cant explain.

I couldnt stop smiling; I think Ive never smiled so hard in my life before, she says.

Meanwhile, Andreswho teared up at the sight of Corinasays he had a sort of tunnel vision.

For the couple, the ceremony hit an emotional pinnacle during the priests sermon.

It was the perfect way to start our lives as a married couple, the bride says.

Different cultures have different customs, Corina explains.

Weddings in Venezuela are completely different from those in the US and Spain.

We dont have assigned seating, and we dont have dinner then the party.

For us, this was very important.

After cocktails, Corina and Andres had their first dance.

Once they started, they barely stoppedonly briefly pausing at 11 p.m. to finally eat some dinner.

(Venezuelan weddings revolve around the music and dancing, Corina says.

Thats why the dance floor is always active.)

At midnight, they had a surprise: the hora loca.

At the same time, we hired dancers dressed up in masks to help us spread around the fun.

After the dancers finished, a trumpeter started playing to the beat of the music.

We are unbelievably happy, Carina says when asked to reflect on her Spanish nuptials.

It was the most amazing day of our lives."
